Holiday Home

In The Heart of the Wye Valley

For the perfect getaway and staycation

A stunning, sustainable, purpose built 2 bedroom luxury holiday cottage for your next short break in the Wye Valley & Forest of Dean to relax in nature.

Fernleigh Courtyard

Fernleigh Courtyard is a new, dog-friendly, purpose-built, eco holiday cottage tucked away in the beautiful Wye Valley National Landscape, close to the English–Welsh border.

Designed as a place to slow down, reconnect and recharge, Fernleigh Courtyard is an intimate and light-filled luxury retreat centred around its own private courtyard, a feature that guests truly appreciate.

The main living spaces — the spacious sitting room, kitchen-diner and ground floor bedroom — gather around this tranquil outdoor space, all sheltered beneath a living green roof.

With two beautifully considered bedrooms, a luxurious wet room with rain shower and an upstairs bath, Fernleigh Courtyard offers everything you need for a relaxing short break or a longer stay.

A home designed around tranquillity

The Wye Valley, undoubtedly a peaceful place to live

Fernleigh Courtyard exudes a similar calmness

Letting the outside in

Fernleigh Courtyard is inward-looking and private, while large windows and carefully positioned openings bring in changing light and views of the surrounding garden. The result is a calm, restful atmosphere that changes subtly throughout the day.

From the generous solid-oak entrance door, the spaces flow naturally together. Long views lead from the sitting room through the kitchen towards the light-filled wet room, where a skylight brings daylight onto the rain shower; and onwards to the ground floor bedroom.

The spacious sitting room has a huge sofa, leather love seat, cosy wood burner and a large picture window with a sweet-chestnut window seat. A door opens directly onto the courtyard.

The adjoining kitchen-diner features bespoke solid-wood cabinetry crafted from seasoned local sweet chestnut. Patio doors open onto the private courtyard, creating an inviting space for outdoor meals, morning coffee or simply enjoying the peace. Clever design lets the outside in.

Upstairs, a second bedroom sits above the lounge, complete with its own bath and hand basin. Outside, a separate sauna (to be completed in autumn 2026) will provide another opportunity to relax and unwind.

Helen & Steve, what a fantastic place you have built. So quiet, peaceful & relaxing - just the break we needed.
This is our 4th time staying in the Brockweir area and this is, by far, the best place we have stayed.
We will be back!

What a fantastic place!
We enjoyed a wonderful 3-night stay here with our family. Ideal to be able to walk to Tintern. Beautiful location for seeing the Wye Valley.
Kids enjoyed meeting the chickens and sheep.

Thank you for the thought and work that has gone into creating such a lovely environment to stay in.

We loved our stay at Fernleigh Courtyard. Beautiful and stylish cottage with very comfortable beds.
Thanks so much for accommodating us at such short notice - we're honoured to be among the first guests to stay at your wonderful cottage! I hope many more people get to experience it in the years to come.

Thanks for 4 great nights. Property is a really nice unique stay. Our two girls loved greeting the chickens every morning.
